Individual USARL Exiles Player Registration Now Open

Naples, FL - Copperheads RLFC Assistant Coach Colin O’Dell is set to lead the USARL Exiles Team for the Upcoming Naples 9s Tournament which will participate in the Open Men’s Bracket on May 14th, 2022 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex.


This team will specifically feature both affiliated players and unaffiliated players registered with the USARL in 2022 from across the USA and even Internationally that want to play in the upcoming Naples 9s Tournament.


If you are interested in playing for the Exiles, spots are first come first served, and managed by Coach Colin directly.


To register please follow these simple steps:

  1. If you are unattached or your club team isn’t attending immediately fill out the Exiles player interest form. https://copperheadsrlfc.com/player-landing-page

  2. Purchase an individual General Admission Ticket for the Naples 9s Tournament on our website to confirm interest. https://www.copperheadsrlfc.com/event-info/naples-9s-tournament

  3. Register with the USARL by Friday, May 13th, 2022 at 6 PM, check-in with Colin O’Dell, and then attend the USARL 9s Basic Skills Session, led by Sean Rutgerson, US Men's National Team Coach at Paradise Sports Complex’s designated practice field for player evaluation.

  4. That evening Colin will provide the roster, positions, and the line-ups for the match before 8:30 AM when the team meets for their warm-up time. Before taking on the Tampa Mayhem just after 9 AM.


More about Colin O'Dell:

Colin has been playing rugby union for over 8-Years and selected for countless rep games. However, most notably played for the Coogee Randwick Wombats RLFC in South Sydney in 2019 and was selected to play for the USA Hawks in NRL backed Cabramatta 9s tournament where they played countries such as Cook Islands, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Japan, France and more. Colin came back the following season to then play with the Southwest Florida Copperheads RLFC coached by former NRL and Super League prop Derek McVey where he earned the Man of the Season 1st runner-up award. Colin then went on to help coach the SWFL Hammerheads U19s Union side where they went undefeated 2020-2021 regular season as they took the minor premiership. Then in his last season with the Southwest Florida Copperheads RLFC, he played both Five-eighth and back row was top 3 in points scored throughout first 5 games before succumbing to injury which ended his competitive playing career. His new focus is on coaching where he is now a Level 200 coach with USA Rugby and pursuing his IRL Level 1 certification.
