Copperheads Strike Renegades in Round 5

The 2019 Copperheads RLFC have made club history yet again by defeating the

Lakeland Renegades 30 to 12 this past Saturday night, posting the franchise's first ever

win streak.

After Lakeland struck first in the 9th minute of the game, the Copperheads went on to score five straight tries by five different Copperheads players, putting up 30 consecutive points while holding strong on defense against a hard-running Lakeland attack. The players that got onto the scoreboard were as follows:

Fullback William Huie in the Stevie Tomato's Sports Page #1

Right Centre Jude Kermundu in the Estero Bay Chevrolet #3

Right Wing Jean Fortin in the PMR #24

Stand-Off Jitoko 'JT' Tabua in the Chiropractic Care and Rehab Center #17

Back Sub Johnny Lindsey in the Chiropractic Care and Rehab Center #23

Kermundu was 5 for 5 on the day with his conversion kicks, adding an extra 10 points to

the score sheet.

The Copperheads will look to continue the win streak this Saturday night in Jacksonville

as they take on the undefeated and reigning USARL National Champions the Axemen,

who have continued to clear cut their way across the USARL South competition.

The last time these two sides met was in Round 1 of the competition, where

Jacksonville took the shovel to the Copperheads 42 to 14 at Lehigh Senior High School.
